Raft came off easily, nearly a complete piece removed by hand, very little spatula work. I knew that wasn't going to work with my machine, but I left it as is. The bridging sucked, but the default settings were 200% speed on bridge.

Simplif圓D gave a wonderful shape, but stringing was by far the worst, with thick stringing. Raft released easier than Cura, but still too some work. It handled fill very well so the way around, but left that weird artifact on few layers and a huge elephant foot. The first layers are nasty compared to the other two. There was a buggered up corner on the storage box thing. There were gaps in the walls of the bottom layers, as you can see on a pic. I could not get the raft off, even with a sharpened spatula.

It just seemed to push the machine hard and fast, not with the grace of movement that the other two slicers gave.
#CURA VS SIMPLIFY 3D FULL#
on a full raft for fairness on the first layer.I am looking to see what produces the best looking Benchy, will also be noting printing times. I did turn on wiping and coasting (coasting in S3D, didn't see it elsewhere), avoiding perimeter crossings, turned on "combing" in Cura, things like that. I'm trying to give each slicer the best chance at success with some settings that I know works for my printer, and still trying to leave it as "stock" as possible. I decided to give all 3 a try (I skipped Slic3R since its the core for Prusa Slicer), head to head Benchy competition. After printing a Benchy, yup, it is in fact better print quality than my previous version. Although the processing speed varies a lot depending on the complexity of your 3D file, Simplif圓D.
#CURA VS SIMPLIFY 3D UPGRADE#
I decided to log in to see if I still get an upgrade after their new pricing model, and it let me grab the newest 4.1.2 version no charge. Both of them do the same thing for the user slice up the file image for 3D printing. After trying Prusa Slicer, I was amazed how much better it was than Simplif圓D.Ĭaveat to that: I hadn't updated my Simplif圓D in probably 3 years.
